| The Process
|
In the typically hair straightening the hair is Chemically
broken down. The thio or lye base straightening system penetrates
into the cortex of the hair and breaks down the Cystine bonds
of the hair core. After it is broken down to the desired
state the neutralizer is applied to re harden the hair into
the new straightened state. After this process the natural
oxygen is removed from the hair, it's protein, it's moisture
and the cuticle layer is left open and not in the healthy
state of closed and flat to the hair shaft. All straightening
processes will leave the hair in this condition, which will
give the hair a dry, dull, and frizzy look. The hair also
at this time is very fragile and in poor condition. In Thermal
Reconditioning (Japanese Straightening) there is not the
breakdown of the hair and there is no removal of the protein,
moisture, and oxygen from the hair.
The process has many steps in it to ensure that the integrity of the hair is
not compromised and will leave the hair at the end of the procedure in a more
healthier state than it was before the process. The hair will be straight and
stay straight, the curl will not return to the hair that has received the procedure.
Your hair will be shinny, glossy, silky, and in great condition after this system.
This condition will not change with the proper care and products used after your
treatment.
